Have you ever wanted go swimming in the creek after a hard days work? Have you ever wondered what kind of bugs are in the water you are swimming in? Have you wondered how clean the water is? If you see caddisflies, mayflies, stoneflies,or riffle beetles your water quality is good because these bugs are intolerant to pollution. If you see just midges, leaches, horsefly and cranefly larva your water quality is very poor because these insects are tolerant to pollution and they can live in warm water. We are very fortunate in Pinedale because we have very clean water with an abundance of aquatic insects. Most of the water in Sublette county is good and is not polluted. The chemicals in the mud are the main cause of pollution in the river. It may not nessessarily be people as many would think. The water in Sublette county is clean and cool so all fish can thrive.
