How the river is used for recreationFishing is the main recreational use for the river, there is also boating. When the river freezes some people ice skate on it.
Why are these uses important?They are important because many of Pinedale's businesses depend on tourism. Many of our visitors come here to enjoy the wildlife and great fishing.

Is there any commercial fishing on the Green River?There is no commercial fishing on the Green because any selling of game fish in Wyoming is strongly prohibited.
How many outfitters are licensed to use the Green River?Seven outfitters are permitted, but not all of them use the river all the time.
How has the river changed?The river has changed greatly in the eyes of one outfitter. Monte Skinner tells us that the river used to have more water than it does today. But the Outfitters at Jack Dennis Outfitters told us that since they've been using the river, little change has taken place.
